Building Defects
It needs patience and endurance to study a defect before effecting a permanent repair.  Buildings move all the time, and finishes wear out, and things decay.  Sometimes the simple application of a repair system is enough, but usually there is an underlying cause that needs to be studied before cost-effective repairs can be carried out.  Adrian J Singleton Limited has extensive experience of the study and repair of all major types of building construction, and of course the patience to investigate defects fully and give long term care and advice where appropriate.

Measured Surveys
We can undertake measured surveys to prepare record drawings and other record documents to provide, as required, floor plans, sections, elevations, site layout, levels, services and drainage, other site features and soil reports.

Insurance Claims
We can act on your behalf as the 'informed client' whilst negotiating with a loss adjuster employed by your insurers to deal with a claim under a policy.  We will attend site meetings on your behalf, support your case and secure the best settlement for you using our knowledge and experience to set aside any minor differences in interpretation of the basis of your claim, the wording of the policy and the liability of the insurer to reimburse you for actual and any consequential loss you are entitled to. Fire and Security Assessment
Most premises other than dwelling houses are required by law to have an effective Fire Risk Assessment in place, which must be periodically reviewed and updated and such premises have to have a designated person responsible for ensuring this is regularly maintained.  Whereas in the past many premises had Fire Certificates, these no longer apply and instead the onus of inspection and maintenance is placed on the designated person.  Failing to maintain your records could potentially invalidate your insurance policy as well, as would any flagrant disregard for a fire hazard in your building.  Whilst much of this is obvious to detect for the trained assessor, most small businesses in particular, struggle to find the time to carry out these inspections and with the necessary level of objectivity to see past the operational needs that lead to some compromising of protection systems.

At Adrian J Singleton Limited we are experienced in assessing buildings for occupational safety, health, and fire precautions, so you can rely on us to supply an economic solution for your business which will include an offer to maintain annual or more frequent periodic inspections and keep copies of all fire safety records off-site for you so that in the event of an incident arising you have the peace of mind that we can be called upon to provide you with the backup information and get you back in business as swiftly as possible.  Of course, following our audits and implementation of our advice, you are far less likely to have an incident and should be able to negotiate lower insurance premiums.

Similarly, and not unconnected, premises security is also a key factor in fire prevention and important as a general anti-vandalism tool.  We have considerable experience of providing fabric enhancements to windows and doors to achieve significant security protection to insurer's satisfaction.
